In addition to her KO project, Newborn is known for her work in indie-rock band Slothpop and garage-rock quartet White Moms. After helping a friend start a performing arts school, Youth Future, in Beijing, she returned to Indianapolis to pursue recording and producing.
Beedie promotes, books and curates shows, including last spring's Indy Women in Hip Hop Show at State Street Pub. She's the co-founder of Face a Face Collective, an online publication that elevates marginalized voices in Indianapolis, and serves on the board of Musical Family Tree.
WOO GRL's three founders are well-established in the Indiana music and culture scene. O’Neal, a singer and bass player with Wife Patrol, chairs the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for Girls Rock! Indy. (Proceeds from WOO GRL will support Girls Rock!, an organization that teaches future rockers about music and the music biz.)
